“Art isn’t just what we see — it’s what we feel, fear, fight through, and finally understand.”
— James Hurley

🖌️ About the Artist

James Hurley is a digital mixed media conceptual artist whose work bridges photography, texture, symbolism, and deeply personal storytelling. Self-taught and intuitive in his approach, James blends over 50 layers of imagery and effects in Photoshop to create bold, emotionally charged compositions. His art explores identity, emotional pressure, and the transformative power of vulnerability.

Based in Cambridgeshire, James began sharing his artwork publicly in 2023. Since then, his work has been featured in UK galleries and across international exhibitions — from Berlin and Dubai to Miami and Athens. As the founder of Creative Talents Magazine, James not only creates but also champions other emerging voices. His art and his platform both aim to give power to those finding — and freeing — their true selves.

Symbolic of the moment one steps away from conformity. Evocative and bold, this piece reflects the tension between personal growth and cultural expectation — and the courage it takes to choose liberation.

💬 Editor’s Note

★★★★★

James Hurley’s work is raw, layered, and unapologetically human. His art holds space for difficult truths — about pressure, pain, and transformation — and reminds us that creative expression is both survival and liberation. His contribution to this issue is not only visual but foundational, and we’re honoured to include his voice both on the page and behind the scenes.
