Martin Davis is a self-taught artist working in oil and acrylic, known for his rich still life compositions and subtly surreal scenes. A former firefighter, Martin now devotes his time to painting, where his calm, detailed style contrasts powerfully with his previous high-stakes career. His work invites the viewer to slow down, observe, and discover quiet narratives unfolding through careful brushwork.
Martin’s technical skill has gained national recognition — including selection for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition — and his paintings are held in collections across the UK and abroad. His practice celebrates both the familiar and the fantastical, often drawing inspiration from everyday objects reimagined with depth and intrigue.
